It is more suited to single travellers, therefore only one adult can stay. Our rooms are not serviced for the duration of your stay. Ideally situated just a 5-minute walk from the Burnie City Centre, Jones on Wilson Boutique B&B is located at 154 Wilson Street Burnie, the main street, but the quiet end! As you enter into Burnie take the slip lane on the left before McDonalds, and we are lesss than 300 metres from the highway. We are 900 metres from the beautiful West Beach. As you easily walk up the main street, you will find many restaurants and coffee shops, as well as a fine dining experience at the Bay Views Restaurant and the amazing Foreshore restaurant that offers the best seafood experience. Our home is Art Deco in style and is themed accomodation; including the Marilyn Monroe Suite and James Dean Apartment. For something a little different, we offerThe Gallery, featuring a full wall mural of Cradle Mountain, by a well known landscape photographer. Guests have commented its like camping under the stars and it offers something a little different with its modern-rustic decor.
We offer free Wi-Fi and free parking. Each room contains a flat screen TV, and some with DVDs. Guests can enjoy free continental breakfast daily located within your room. All our beds and matresses are of an extremely high standard along with the bed linen.
We are a 3-minute drive from The Penguin Observatory. Burnie Airport is a 25-minute drive away and Cradle Mountain a 50 minute drive away.
Each room offers a different feel and has its own special uniqueness.
We have regular guests who come on business to soak up our home away from home feel, as well as the discerning well-travelled tourist.

Many of our guests stay with us and travel there and back.Makers' Workshop Burnie’s newest visitor attraction Makers’ Workshop is a place that honours Burnie’s history, makers, innovators and artists.Opened in November 2009 this contemporary structure is a new concept for Burnie, part contemporary museum, part arts centre and visitor information centre. The building won the Tasmanian Architectural Award in May 2010.Tasmania is World renowned for its cheeses: From rich, creamy Camemberts, to sweet, intense Blues and uniquely sharp Cheddars, our brands are widely recognised for their quality and success. Just recently Tasmanian Heritage’s Red Square Washed Rind took home the coveted title of Grand Champion Cheese at the recent Australian Grand Dairy Awards. Discover for yourself how wonderful these delicious cheeses are by visiting the Cheese Shop whilst you are at the Makers' Workshop,Hellyers Road Distillery On the 29th January 1999 the first barrel of whisky was filled at Hellyers Road Distillery. The single malt whisky has its own distinct Tasmanian flavour, attributed to the clean local water and high quality ingredients.Visitors can experience the distilling process first hand with an interpretative behind the scenes tour. The exhibition features many of the Burnie Regional Museum’s fascinating and significant objects dating from before 1900. Learn about early exploration and the exploits of the Van Diemen’s Land Company; life in the region for early settlers; and the events which led to Burnie’s first economic boom at the turn of the 20th century.Federation Street Burnie circa 1900 Wander the charming Federation Street and see how ordinary people lived 100 years ago. Set on a large acreage, come along and wander through native gardens and feed the growing family of animals.Bring family and friends and don't forget to pack a picnicBurnie Beach The people of Burnie share the fantastic beaches; imaginatively named South Beach, West Beach and Cooee, all of them enjoying a northerly aspect overlooking Bass Strait on Tasmania's North West Coast.West Beach is a block from the central business district and is connected by boardwalk to the Makers' Workshop and the penguin habitat on the western end of the beach.West Beach has a proud tradition of Surf Life Saving Clubs and championships, and the recently re-developed Surf Club building also boasts a beachfront restaurant and cafe.These are safe swimming beaches and West Beach is where the people from North West Tasmania celebrate with their families, be dazzled with fireworks and bonfires as they come together to herald in the new year.But mostly these beaches are quite restful places for relaxation and rejuvenation.Fernglade and Platypus Sighting Fern Glade Reserve is one of Burnie's most valuable natural and recreational resources is a peaceful river valley on the edge of the city.Fern Glade Reserve is just 3.9km from the City centre (Post Office) to the main entrance and it offers long walks along the banks of the Emu River and the chance to see platypus surfacing.The Reserve, which also offers barbecue and picnic facilities and toilets, can be accessed by vehicles at the main entrance or from a second entrance 0.5km up river.More than a dozen species of native orchids have been noted along the walking tracks.If you are very quiet and stay back from the edge of the river, you may get a glimpse of the shy platypus native to the area.Guide Falls Area WildlifeGuide FallsLocated at West Ridgley about 19km south of Burnie, Guide Falls is the most accessible waterfall in the Burnie hinterland.There are two picnic areas and walking tracks to enjoy.The falls have water year round but are most spectacular in winter and spring.Emu Valley Rhododendron Garden Emu Valley Rhododendron Garden has about 20,000 plants on an 11ha landscaped site just 8km south of Burnie. Surrounded by native bushland and laced with lakes, wildlife, waterways, bridges and design features, this beautiful garden is a place for relaxation and contemplation.The location’s unique temperate climate makes it one of the only known places where the entire range of the world’s rhododendrons can be grown in the same garden.The first rhododendrons were planted in 1981 by volunteers who have continued to develop the garden. It now features a tea room overlooking the valley and some fabulous private picnic spots.Penguins The Little Penguin Observation Centre was constructed at Parsonage Point on the western end of West Beach, but not before hundreds of penguin igloo apartments were hand made and cleverly located by local volunteers. Their latest project involves rebuilding native sea bird habitat further west.Around dusk, from September to March, little penguins noisily waddle ashore to nest in their burrows, and every evening during the season Friends of Burnie Penguins offer free interpretative tours for visitors.It may not have seemed possible once, but Burnie has cleaned up its act when it comes to our burrowing neighbours, with the help of a clear vision and thousands of volunteer hours.The Little Penguin Observation Centre is located on the western end of West Beach linked to the city via a beach boardwalk.FREE GUIDED TOURSFrom September to March the Friends of Burnie Penguins offer free Penguin Interpretation Tours.
